Access and fill in the online form:
- Create a MILogin account at MILogin – help guide to set up an account can be found here.
- Request access to MI-NATES: Michigan Nurse Aide, Training, and Enforcement System, and set up your user profile. Help guide to fill in the form here.
- Submit a new nurse aide application and pay the $20 registration fee via the MI-NATES System.
Note: Only nurses with a valid certificate from the following states are eligible for reciprocity: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin.
A candidate who did not undergo training and testing from a State listed above is not eligible for reciprocity.
Michigan requirements for reciprocity include, but are not limited to:
- The training program is consistent with the Federal Code of Regulations.
- Requires a minimum of 75 course hours prior to taking a competency evaluation examination.
- Does not allow candidates to be exempt from the training course hours or testing.
