How to keep your license on the North Dakota CNA Registry

Stay Active

The certification period is for 24 months, and you must renew every 2 years by providing verification that you have worked a minimum of eight (paid) hours during the 24-month time frame, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. It does not have to be a full 8-hour day and can be broken down into a few hours over several days, but it excludes orientation.

Renew

You will receive a 4×5 postcard in the mail approximately 60 days before your certification expires. The card will give you instructions on how to renew online. This postcard will be the only notification you will receive from the Registry.

If you renew your certification online yourself, the Registry will contact your employer to verify the information.

You can renew your license online here.

Reactivate your expired license

If the certification expires, you must contact the Registry (see below).
