ShiftMed is an app-based staffing platform that hires CNAs, GNAs, and STNAs directly as W-2 employees rather than independent contractors. CNAs browse open shifts at hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, surgery centers, and in-home settings, then claim the ones that fit their schedule.

Pay options include weekly direct deposit, Next Day Pay, and Instant Pay, which lets CNAs cash out a portion of pre-tax earnings right after clocking out. Guaranteed Shift pay covers the full shift if a facility cancels or sends a CNA home early. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) through Fidelity, an illness and accident plan, and Uber Health rides to and from shifts. Free CNA training is also offered through the NICE platform for aspiring aides.

ShiftMed places CNAs in roughly 30 states including Florida, Texas, California, Maryland, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, and most of the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. It runs as a per diem and shift-bundle model, not traditional travel contracts.
