- Up to three attempts to pass the competency examination before retraining is required
- Certification and placement on the Oklahoma Nurse Aide Registry maintained by OSDH
Once certified, you may work as a Long Term Care Aide in nursing facilities and other settings where Oklahoma recognizes LTCA certification throughout Tulsa and across the state. LTCA certification must be renewed every two years, and to renew you must document at least 8 hours of paid nursing or health-related services during the preceding 24 months. There is no OSDH renewal fee for Long Term Care Aide certification.
