CNA license reciprocity in Tennessee
Tennessee changed its nurse aide registry vendor on June 1, 2026. Applications now go through Credentia. The old TMU portal (tn.tmutest.com) is no longer used for Tennessee.

How to
Fill in the online application:
- Go to credentia.com/test-takers/tn and create a Credentia Platform account
- Log in and open the Registry section
- Click Nurse Aide Reciprocity Request and complete the reciprocity application (Credentia calls it the E3 application)
- Upload a copy of your current out-of-state CNA license or certification
- Submit the application
- You will be placed on the registry once:
- Credentia verifies your certification with every state you list on your application
- Credentia checks the abuse registry in those states, including Tennessee
- Your eligibility and information are verified as true and correct
Notification of successful submission will be emailed to the address in your application.

Allow 2 to 4 weeks for processing.
If you have ever been listed on the Tennessee Nurse Aide Registry, you may need a reinstatement application rather than reciprocity. Call Credentia at (888) 204-6249 before you apply.
Individuals certified in Florida must complete an approved Tennessee Nurse Aide Training Program and pass the Tennessee Competency Evaluation process.
